Excellent adhesion
Can be used on the majority of absorbent and non-absorbent surfaces found in the construction sector, e.g. asphalt, masonry, concrete, cement fibre, ceramics, metal, glass etc.
Good resistance to UV, weathering and water
- The aluminium foil is surface-treated, UV-resistant and therefore has good mechanical stability
- The bitumen tape can also be used outdoors and withstands rain and any other weather influences (not suitable for use under water).
Bitumen compound protected by siliconised PE film
Bitumen compound is protected from dust and dirt until application. Prevents adhesive strength from being impaired.
Compatible with acrylic glass and polycarbonate
Bitumen tape can safely be used on stress cracking in conservatory and greenhouse construction.
The bitumen tape is not suitable for use on surfaces that can be walked or driven on!
Avoid contact with PU adhesives and sealants!
The bitumen tape reliably sticks and seals metal, plastics, monolithic substrates, wood and glass. It is particularly suitable for sealing joints and cracks, gutters, downpipes, covers, glass roofs and greenhouses, steel structures, roof coverings, eave and valley flashing. Typical applications are sealing domed roof lights, window frames, greenhouses, conservatories, any other glass or plastic components and wheel wells in caravan construction. For watertight sealing of wall, floor and roof connections.
The surfaces must be dry, load bearing, abrasion-resistant, free from grease and dust and must not be frozen. The surface temperature must not fall below +5°C. At lower temperatures, the surface to be processed must be preheated with a gas burner or a hot-air device while taking the applicable safety precautions into account. Absorbent and non-absorbent surfaces should be pre-treated with Würth butyl/bitumen primer (art. no. 0892 875) to achieve optimal adhesion.
When connecting several strips, the overlap must be at least 50 mm. To ensure proper adhesion, the tape must be pressed onto the base material and smoothed with a press-on roller (art. no. 0693 011 756) or a similar tool. Avoid the formation of cavities (bubbles).
